MUSIC
All of my life I have loved music and revered many wonderful recording artists. As a child, I had a young Mother who stayed abreast of the latest sounds. Like any other American girl, growing up in the 1960's and the 1970's, I listened to and was therefore influenced by Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and many others. However, my Mother had a special affinity for Dinah and Aretha and played their records more than others, so, their voices are always clear in my mind. I was twenty years old when I bought an album that included Ella, Sarah, Billie and Lena and another one of Shirley Bassey. After listening to this music, I knew that I was destined to sing the songs of The Great American Song Book.
Many of the great movie songs from the last century to the present day are a focus of mine and my favorite songs to sing. Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington, Shirley Bassey, Peggy Lee, Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney and Sarah Vaughan are my favorite singers. Because of these vocalists, I have a career in music that I am very proud of. So I say thank you, to all of the vocalists I love and admire.
