Honing In On The Act - February 7, 2010
Please don't get me wrong, I love people and have lots of friends but I can't maintain friendships with ignorance. Get this one: A singer wanted to sing on my show, got there late, didn't speak to my piano player and expected to sing on a professional show that had twenty minutes left. I didn't call the subject up to sing and the subject called me an evil bitch over it. Well, if you feel that way about it, GET OVER IT!
False Advertisment OR Great Publicity? - October 26, 2009
There is a night club in Hangzhou, China who is advertising that I am playing there. This advertisement has been online for at least one year. I have not contacted this night club because I cannot fathom such a mistake. I have not been to China in all of 2009, I have only been out of the country once this year, in June. Maybe I should contact the night club in question.
What I Do Know For Sure: - October 13, 2009
The main reason so many people fail at singing The National Anthem:
After seeing more than a dozen people make a non-triumphant
effort to sing The National Anthem, I am compelled to go on record with a possible solution.
The National Anthem is a great song, that does not need any extra help, and many people seem to not understand this. A great song will stand alone, all we need to do is to interpret the song without trying to be Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. Just do what you do. The first thing we have to do is to secure a key that is comfortable for our particular voice. You must make a sound effort to memorize this lyric and once the particulars are in place, anyone should successfully sing this song. It is not as difficult as we all seem to think. Now, go to that audition and WIN with this song!
